SportiVexa
TRANSPARENCY · ACCURACY · RESPONSIBILITY

Editorial Policy

The principles SportiVexa follows when preparing, publishing, updating and correcting sports content.

OUR RESPONSIBILITY

Trustworthy sports journalism

SportiVexa is an independent Czech online sports publication covering sports news, results, analysis, previews, match reports and other editorial content.

Our aim is to provide readers with accurate, understandable and transparently produced information. The standards below describe the principles we apply in our editorial work.

CORE PRINCIPLES

How we work with content

01

Accuracy

We distinguish verified facts from opinion, commentary, unofficial reports and speculation, and we use trustworthy and verifiable sources.

02

Transparency

Articles are attributed to individual authors, relevant sources are identified, and significant corrections are made transparently.

03

Independence

Editorial decisions are separate from commercial interests. Accreditation, gifts or other benefits do not create a right to favourable or suppressed coverage.

04

Responsibility

We correct factual errors promptly, protect confidential sources and respect privacy, copyright, embargoes and the presumption of innocence.

01
ACCURACY & VERIFICATION

Accuracy and verification

We publish information whose origin is known, or we clearly state an appropriate reservation when verification is incomplete. We use trustworthy and verifiable sources, including official statements from clubs, governing bodies and competitions, press conferences, official documents, results databases and other relevant sources. Verified facts are distinguished from personal opinion, commentary, unofficial reports and speculation. We do not present assumptions as verified facts or omit material information in a way that distorts the meaning of a report. Headlines must accurately reflect the content and must not intentionally mislead readers.

02
CORRECTIONS & UPDATES

Corrections and updates

When we identify a factual error in published content, we correct it without undue delay. Significant corrections or updates are identified when this is material to readers. Minor spelling, grammatical or stylistic changes may be made without a separate correction notice when they do not change the meaning of the content.

03
SOURCES & QUOTATIONS

Sources and quotations

Where an article relies on information from another publication, official document, press release or other identifiable source, we provide appropriate attribution. Direct quotations are not edited in a way that materially changes their original meaning. When reporting from press conferences, interviews or other editorially obtained material, we preserve the context of the speaker's comments and respect applicable copyright.

04
CONFIDENTIAL SOURCES & INFORMATION GATHERING

Source protection and professional newsgathering

When a source has a legitimate expectation of confidentiality, we protect that source's identity and professional confidentiality. Information, photographs, audio, video and documents are obtained through lawful and professionally defensible means. We do not exploit the good faith of interviewees or other persons and we respect clearly agreed interview conditions.

05
EDITORIAL INDEPENDENCE

Editorial independence

SportiVexa's editorial decision-making is separate from commercial relationships. Advertising, commercial partnerships and sponsored content are clearly identifiable and are not presented as independent editorial journalism. No club, athlete, event organiser, commercial partner or advertiser has the right to influence our editorial conclusions or require the suppression of relevant information. Editorial staff do not accept money, gifts or other benefits in exchange for publishing, withholding or changing editorial content, and non-public information obtained through journalistic work is not used for personal gain.

06
CONFLICTS OF INTEREST

Conflicts of interest

Members of our editorial team avoid activities and relationships that could compromise, or reasonably call into question, their independence when covering a subject. Where a relevant employment, contractual, family, personal or other relationship exists between an author and a subject covered by SportiVexa, the conflict must be handled transparently in proportion to its significance, or the assignment may be transferred to another author.

07
ACCREDITATION & ON-SITE REPORTING

Interviews, accreditation and on-site reporting

When attending sporting events, SportiVexa respects the regulations of the organiser, club, competition and the conditions attached to any media accreditation. Accreditation is a means of enabling independent editorial work, not an obligation to provide favourable coverage or another form of consideration. During interviews, press conferences and mixed-zone activities, we report comments accurately, follow clearly stated rules and conduct ourselves professionally towards athletes, colleagues and organisers. Our editorial work supports the principles of fair play.

08
EMBARGOES & NON-PUBLIC INFORMATION

Embargoes, restrictions and non-public information

We respect clearly stated and lawful embargoes, time restrictions and conditions attached to agency services, organiser materials and other media resources. Non-public information obtained through journalistic work is not published in breach of a valid embargo and is not used for personal advantage before its authorised publication.

09
PHOTOGRAPHY & COPYRIGHT

Photography and copyright

Photographs, text, audio, video and other materials are used in accordance with applicable copyright and licensing requirements. When using material from external databases, agencies or open-licence sources, we comply with the applicable licence terms and provide author and source attribution where required. We do not knowingly use visual material in a manner that creates a misleading impression about the person, team or event discussed in an article.

10
AUTOMATION & AI

Automation and artificial intelligence

SportiVexa does not use artificial intelligence to prepare or process editorial articles. AI tools are not used to create, rewrite, edit, supplement or expand articles, nor are they used for research or fact-checking. Newsroom members select topics, find and verify sources, write and edit articles. Any technical automation is kept separate from editorial content creation and does not replace an author’s work or the newsroom’s responsibility for the accuracy and provenance of published information.

11
AUTHORSHIP

Authorship and accountability

Articles published by SportiVexa identify the author responsible for the respective content, and the newsroom accepts responsibility for published material within its editorial role. Editorial profiles may contain information about each contributor's role, areas of coverage and published articles. Authorship provides readers with transparency about who is responsible for individual pieces of editorial content.

12
PRIVACY, PRESUMPTION OF INNOCENCE & SENSITIVE SUBJECTS

Respect, privacy and responsibility

We respect the privacy and human dignity of the people we cover, with particular care in relation to children, health information, victims, bereaved persons and other sensitive situations. We observe the presumption of innocence and do not publish unsubstantiated accusations, defamation, deliberate falsehoods or distorted documents and facts. We do not produce coverage intended to incite discrimination or unnecessarily place affected persons in distress or humiliation.

13
INDEPENDENT ETHICS & OVERSIGHT

Oversight of editorial standards

Compliance with these editorial standards is subject to the publisher's internal ethics and oversight process. Any complaint concerning a possible breach of these standards is reviewed by an independent ethics and oversight commission of Purpurea Magnus s.r.o., the publisher of SportiVexa. The commission has five members who are neither employees of the company nor members of the SportiVexa editorial team; they are external collaborators operating outside the company. Apart from their role on the commission, they must have no family, personal, financial, employment or other relationship with members of the editorial team or company management that could call their independence into question. Under an internal agreement, the managing director of the publisher is committed to follow the commission's conclusions and proposed remedial measures. The commission cannot be contacted directly. Complaints are accepted through the Editor-in-Chief contact and must be forwarded to the commission for independent review. If a complaint directly concerns the Editor-in-Chief, it is forwarded to the commission through a designated representative of the publisher to ensure independent review without the participation of the person concerned.
